The essay I choose to use for this learning outcome was my first essay written for this class. I believe that global revision is the most important piece of revising a paper because it is either going to make your paper perfect or going to make your essay awful. There are many things that I think can either strengthen or weaken a paper but I think the biggest weakens in this essay was the length and the vocabulary. My rough draft was very messy. Most of what was on the essay were bullet points and two paragraphs at the top of the page. All of the bullet points were just quotes but know explanation with them, also the vocabulary was weak with the writing in the two top paragraphs. The difference between my rough draft and my final draft is like night and day, they don’t even look or sound the same. Next, is the local revision. This is the last thing I do. There are about two to three steps I take to finish this process. The first thing I do is read it over out loud about two times. If I just read it in my head I will just read it the way I want to read it and change the words up in my head. Secondly, I will listen to it my paper through my laptop with a speaking app. This is the one that really helps me hear where the pauses are or should be. Then I have a peer read it and go over it. By revising my essay this way I think it is the best way for me and it pays off for me when the finished paper is complete.
