Geary’s TedTalk really helped me understand metaphors. I have never looked at them before and in this much depth. But I believe now that I can understand metaphors better. It has helped me and will help me in the future. When I read “Life is a garden vs. Life is a roller coaster” the first time I did not understand it one single bit. I have heard “life is a rollercoaster” but not “Life is a garden” when we were talking about it in class I thought it meant one thing but everyone else took it a different way. I realized that that was okay. After reading the second time I was able to understand it deeper. I did read it a third time and I realized that personally I use metaphors on a daily basses. For me, the reading went easier as I read it more
